Did you have your daughter at home too? That is so awesome your mom had you at home. She must have been great support for you. My family thinks I'm nuts for planning a home birth with this baby.
Ha, ha...that's great. You definately could use a shirt like that! I just see it now, being stop in the grocery store and peoplw asking you, "Is your placenta in really in your fridge?".
@ Trish: Yes! I've been a homebirthin' mama from the start. It was always the logical, normal thing to do in my family.
And absolutely, my mom was the best support ever {other than my husband of course}.
Don't worry about your family, most people are afraid of normal birth because they've never been exposed to it. They'll come around. And even if they don't, that's okay too because they're not the ones giving birth! Hahaha...anyway, I'm excited for you. Can't wait to see your little one!
@ Nicole: I've been going back and forth since Dakota was born on what kind of tree! *Ugh* I still can't decide. I think I'm going to give grandma the honors.
I WANT THIS SHIRT TOO!!! Did you really find one like this?? If so I need to buy it! Also, just out of curiosity have you ever considered making your placenta(s) into pills/medicine???
I had 2 placentas (2003, 2005 ) in my freezer until last summer when we planted them under trees at our new house. I still want to get this shirt though... pictures here: http://amandaenclade.blogspot.com/2008/06/our-first-tree-and-solomons-placenta.html

lmao. Speaking of which, what do you do with them? I've heard of different cultures doing things but why would you stick it in your freezer?
hilarious! there really is no gap in the market these days. They think of everything.
and what are you doing with 2 placentas in yoru freezer?!?
Hahaha..actually I plan on planting them in pots under trees or shrubs so that anywhere I go I can take Dakota and Levi's placenta trees with me.
After my mom had me at home my parents planted my placenta under a tree and as a child I loooooved to hear the story about "my tree" in the backyard.
Truth be told, I simply never got around to it after Dakota was born, but my mom and I have plans to do the planting in March right before spring.

That would be pretty cool to hear as a child. Do you know what kind of tree you're going to plant yet? March is coming up pretty quickly.

Actually, I have. I think the next baby we have I may do it. I need to research into it a bit more though.

You do beautiful photography, btw.
I'd say I had our placenta's in the freezer, but they're both buried already.
I'd still like to have that shirt. ;)
